In 2019, we set out to create Climate Essentials with the mission to make carbon management accessible to everyone. A fundamental belief for us back then, and still now, is that businesses of any size and sector should be able to access the tools and support they need to act with integrity and do the right things with regard to climate change and running their businesses.
This core value of wanting to support businesses to build their organisations in the right way, is something we saw echoed in the B Corp standard. We felt that adopting the B Corp standard allowed us to outwardly demonstrate our commitment to continual improvement at Climate Essentials.
In February 2024 Climate Essentials made the decision to commence the application process to become a Certified B Corporation. This decision felt only natural.
The assessment process looks at our policies and practices and scores us across five impact areas. These are: Workers, Environment, Customers, Community and Governance. The assessment process and criteria is incredibly rigorous, and our team worked diligently to complete the requirements, ensuring that the values, morals and ethics that Climate Essentials is built on is reflected and entrenched in our practices and policies.
We’re incredibly pleased to announce that at the end of June we received confirmation that we were officially B Corp Certified and joining the ranks of businesses who ‘meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.’
Our hope for having achieved this high standard is that our clients, employees, and stakeholders are reassured that we are now, and will be continually, working towards transparency, accountability, and integrity at Climate Essentials.
